This is not going to be a full course in programming but instead a basic overview of programming and its characteristics.
Computers need a way to give output or results and get input or data, this process is called I/O (Input/Output).
Computers also need a way to store data both temporarily and permanently. To store data temporarily computers use a thing called variables and to store data permanently computers use files.
Variables are stored in the computer’s memory; the memory is a place on the computer where data can be stored temporarily. Files are data that is stored on your disk so that data is permanent.
